While there are more female recruitment business owners than ever before, the Gender Index reports that female-led companies make up just 16.8% of total recruitment firms, so we find ourselves very lucky to have two of the best female leaders around. Kate and Louise met on their first day, in their first jobs out of university, a rather long time ago in 2002, working for Hays Montrose agency.
They began their recruitment careers, recruiting in the FM and maintenance industry. Aligning their working life together over the following 12 years, focusing purely on FM and maintenance and building a formidable brand, in 2014 they took the leap to start their own agency.
After securing the backing of a well-known venture capitalist, Kate and Louise launched Total Facilities Recruitment. Over the next 5 years Total Facilities secured its place within the marketplace as a top recruiter in the FM and maintenance sector. Total Facilities was born with the ever-changing FM market at the time in mind, it was to become an agency purely focused on this specialist sector and was to deliver a top service to encompass all areas in FM, by professional, specialist recruiters. In 2019 Kate and Louise successfully exited their investor and completed an MBO.

Kate is a proud mum to her 11-year-old son Harry and an animal lover! Ralph, her American Cocker spaniel is the adopted office dog and can be found most days, running around the office, often causing chaos. Outside of the office you can usually find her in wellies walking her dogs or in the field with her horses.
